Spermatic cord torsion and testicular infarction


Definition

  • Torsion is the complete or incomplete twisting of the spermatic cord with or without associated ischemic necrosis of the testis. Torsion may occur within the tunica vaginalis (intravaginal torsion) or outside to it (extravaginal torsion).
