Fibrous pseudotumor


Definition

  • Nonneoplastic proliferation of fibrous tissue admixed with inflammatory cells frequently involving the tunica vaginalis

Clinical features

Epidemiology

  • Most common in the third through sixth decades of life

  • Associated with a hydrocele in 50% of cases

  • Prior trauma or inflammation reported in 30% of cases
