Cause, clinical and ultrasound findings

• Reasons for the injection include inflammatory arthritis and osteoarthritis.

• The patient has functionally limiting midfoot/forefoot pain.

• Ultrasound findings are hypoechoic fluid and/or synovial proliferation with or without neovascularity bulging out of the joint.
