DESCRIPTION OF FINDINGS

CT scans from four patients demonstrate cystic jaw lesions without mineralization.

  • Case A features a unilocular cystic lesion involving the left posterior mandible that is associated with an unerupted left third mandibular molar. The cyst extends to the margin of the cemento-enamel junction of the unerupted tooth.

  • Case B features an expansile unilocular cystic lesion within the right posterior mandible that is associated with the roots of a normally erupted right third mandibular molar.

  • Case C features a large, multilocular, expansile cystic lesion centered within the left posterior mandible with an associated displaced left third mandibular molar. The lesion involves the body, ramus, coronoid process, and condylar neck of the mandible.

  • Case D features a round cystic lesion associated with the roots of the normally erupted right second maxillary molar. Note the sequelae of a prior root canal involving the mesiolingual root.
