Grepafloxacin is a synthetic fluoroquinolone antibiotic with extensive tissue distribution and strong antibacterial activity in vivo [ , ]. However, it was withdrawn in 1999 because of its adverse cardiovascular effects, which included dysrhythmias [ ].
