Haphazard nonneoplastic overgrowth of the native smooth muscle between or around the vessels or efferent ducts in the paratesticular region or the spermatic cord

Epidemiology

Mean age, 63 years (range, 46–81 years)

Etiology not clear; may represent hamartomatous proliferation

Epididymal or vas deferens ductal ectasia in some cases suggestive of an obstruction as a cause
