Aggressive angiomyxoma of the male genital region


Definition

  • Distinctive, locally aggressive fibromyxoid tumor of the pelvic and genital region; also termed deep angiomyxoma

Clinical features

Epidemiology

  • Rare; approximately 150 cases reported to date

  • Predominantly affecting females with males rarely affected (female-to-male ratio, 7.5:1)

  • Mean age, 46 years (range, 1–82 years); most commonly in the third and fourth decades of life
