Transspatial and multispatial terms are used to describe specific subsets of lesions found in the head and neck. The transspatial descriptor is used to describe a lesion that involves multiple contiguous spaces or areas of the extracranial head and neck. Multispatial is applied to a lesion that is found in multiple noncontiguous spaces or areas.
