Definition

  • A rare tumor differentiating toward specialized smooth muscle cells of the glomerular afferent arteriole in the juxtaglomerular apparatus; associated with renin production and hypertension

Clinical features

Epidemiology

  • Rare tumor with fewer than 100 cases published

  • Affects adolescents and young adults (mean age, 27 years)

  • Slight female predominance (female-to-male ratio, 2:1)
