Urothelial carcinoma, microcystic variant


Definition

  • A histologic variant of urothelial carcinoma that is composed of malignant urothelial nests, usually with low-to-intermediate nuclear grade, with microcyst, macrocyst and tubular formation.

  • Usually occurs in the bladder with rare cases in the renal pelvis
