Papillary cystadenoma of the epididymis


Definition

  • A benign papillary epithelial tumor of the epididymis

Clinical features

Epidemiology

  • Rare, but accounts for one-third of primary epididymal tumors

  • Unilateral cases more common, usually not associated with von Hippel-Lindau disease

  • Bilateral cases typically associated with and seen in 40% of patients with von Hippel-Lindau disease

  • Mean age, 35 years (range, 16–76 years)
