Incidence of approximately one per million.
Approximately 75% are squamous carcinomas, and the remainder include adenoid cystic carcinoma; adenocarcinoma, not otherwise specified (NOS); epithelial–myoepithelial carcinoma; and neuroendocrine carcinoma.
